Maison Boudoir is here!

Two years ago I launched Maison Boudoir, a luxury boudoir studio based in Estevan, the small town in southern Saskatchewan. It grew from shooting boudoir sessions for a couple friends, into hosting full boudoir retreat weekends in various cities across Canada. This past year, I realized that I was juggling so many things that it was time to make a change. Boudoir alone is a weird category to navigate. you create these beautiful portraits of your clients, take the time to edit them to perfection, and if you are lucky enough that they choose to share them, you are blocked by all the major social media platforms from ever reaching new potential clients.

Now, this sucks because you’ve invested so much of your time, energy and pure passion into creating this art, only to receive the famous “your content won’t appear to people who don’t follow you”. So, I stepped back and asked myself, “why am I curating this online presence, to this extent, only to have it muted into darkness?”.

Then I look into it a bit further. Almost all of my 2025 Boudoir business was through referrals. There may be something here. That is why I have decided to absorb Maison Boudoir into Canadian James Photography. Same quality and coverage, with half the marketing, which means more time spent on the things that matter to the clients.

So, I you desire to have a luxury boudoir experience in Saskatchewan, or anywhere else in Canada, let’s get that book for you. I will still be hosting boudoir retreat weekends in Saskatoon, Calgary and Vancouver frequently, and am open to travel elsewhere upon request.

Thank you to everyone who has stepped in front of the lens at Maison Boudoir and continued to refer me to your friends. It has been an honour!

-James

Grad formals, sort of.
